SALISBURY ---- Martin Cain exits his garage soaked with sweat. He has just flipped the switch on an upright contraption resembling an oversized refrigerator, rumbling and belching steam, powered by a thunderous inferno burning at its base.

Cain grins with excitement, mentally charged by the sheer notion that his creation is what he calls nothing short of a miracle.
